It's the last day of school. Ever.

Everyone decided the night before that there was to be no tears, no silliness. A common room party was had, yearbooks were distributed. Carlotta's entry of future plans was deemed the most exciting, but she enjoyed reading the others.

Bobby, Janet and the twins were off to University. Angela was off to finishing school. Mirabel and Gladys training to be games mistresses. Most of the others going into a job of some sort, except for Pam, who would stay on as the new Head Girl. Lots of fond memories, and sad goodbyes. But there's bound to be a reunion sooner or later.

As the parents start to arrive, Will makes an entrance, walking two horses. He leads them out to the sports field, Carlotta joins him, and they give a surprise impromptu performance of horse acrobatics to a bunch of delighted schoolkids.

Her father, grandmother and Harris watch on. And her father smiles to himself. He might have preferred her to pick a different career, but at least she's good at it.

When they're done, many hugs are exchanged. Then she rides over to Will's... their place, while her father takes the trunk in the car. And then, they say a harder goodbye than she'd thought, and her family drive away.

With four days to finish getting prepared for going on tour, it's all a bit of a rush. Will has already made the trip between the stables and Carlotta's father's house to fetch her caravan and drive it back, so that's one less thing to sort. Now, all they need to do is pack anything else he wants to take, fetch Orion from the bar, and make sure they manage the meet-up with Leonado's circus when it passes on the next town.

That night, they settle down for a cuddle, overnight in the same space for the first time, albeit in different beds.

"Welcome to grown up life, Carlotta." Will whispers.
