As she steps through, Demeter changes her dress to be more appropriate to the era and her hair is tied back,

"I'll try and not take too long."

"Look, if something goes very wrong, this is the school telephone number. You'll have to lie and say someone has died to get me to the phone so don't use it unless you have to."

"I promise I won't and I can usually get myself out of most things."

"All right, be careful." She opens the back gate with her key, then gives Demeter a quick hug.

"Pick up anything else of theirs you find there, just in case."

"I will. Now go have a good day at school."

Demeter kisses her cheek before heading off down the road.

Carlotta stares after her worriedly, then goes inside.

Demeter nods to those she passes but things are fairly quiet as she gets her train ticket.

There's a few farmers strolling by, and a policeman on his rounds, who nods politely.

"Good morning miss."

He goes on his way.

"Good morning, sir."

The train schedules aren't too confusing out this far thankfully so Demeter is glad to sit and wait and scribble ideas for her garden as she waits.

The station is virtually deserted, except for a few people on their way to work.

The train comes along. It's a steam train, which is rather fun...

Its been a while since Demeter's seen one so it makes her smile as she stands up to get on.

The train is nearly empty too. But after a while a little old lady comes down with the tea trolley.

"Off to the seaside are you love? It's nice weather for it today."

"Oh yes, a good friend of mine told me about a lovely village called Bracklesham Bay and I'm going to look over the cottage they stayed in."

"Oh you'll like it there, they do a lovely cream tea."

"Then I'll make sure to have one of those. Do you spend your holidays down there?"

"Oh yes, me and my Alf. Got to get going dear, enjoy your stay."

She takes the trolley down further.

"I will, thank you."

Demeter sits back happily with the scone she bought.

The train reaches the station soon enough; it's not a long journey.

There are still very few people around.

Which is useful for what Demeter is doing, she heads towards the beach, looking for the cottage made out of two train carriages.

Fortunately, there is only one of them.

The nearby beach is deserted too, except for a few small children playing in the sand. A man is out walking his dog along the road, and the milkman is just making his rounds.

So Demeter heads towards it and pulls out the key to her potting shed so that it looks as if she's just going in and belongs there.

Nobody tries to stop her. After all, the cottages get rented out, so there are different people there all the time.

Inside she heads for the small kitchen and starts looking for the bracelet, hopefully it hasn't fallen anywhere.

Fortunately, the cottage hasn't been cleaned yet.

The bracelet is on the side of the sink.

Demeter sighs as she finds it and puts it into her pocket. Then she does a little bit of cleaning up before heading into the town to have some tea.
